Road Safety Behaviour Change Programme
We deliver road safety and active travel behaviour change programmes for primary, secondary and post-16 learners, supporting local authority road safety strategies by improving risk awareness and encouraging safer decision making across all age groups in UK schools.
Our programmes combine Theatre in Education and workshop based delivery, tailored to local priorities, school needs and regional road safety data and informed by recognised Safe System principles.
We don’t deliver a single fixed programme. We design delivery around local priorities, age group and need. Examples of comissioned projects are below:
KS1 - “Muffin”
An engaging and educational performance for Key Stage 1 (KS1) students that utilises storytelling, puppetry, and music to teach road safety basics. This includes essential concepts for young pedestrians, such as staying safe near roads, understanding different types of crossings, and effectively using the Green Cross Code.
KS2 “How We Roll”
This program, designed for KS2 students, encompasses a dynamic combination of a show, workshop, and interschool competition. Participants will engage in activities aimed at educating them about the principles of safe and sustainable travel. Through informative sessions, students will explore the importance of active travel methods, such as walking, cycling, and public transportation.
KS3 “What Went Down”
This impactful drama conveys the significance of road safety to Key Stage 3 students during a pivotal period in their development. By emphasising the influence of peer pressure on decision-making, it encourages young individuals to recognize and navigate the complexities of their choices and behaviors. The performance serves as a valuable tool in fostering awareness and resilience, equipping students with the skills needed to make informed, safe decisions in their daily lives.
KS4/5 “Wanna Lift”
The presentation is designed for KS4/5 students, employing an engaging blend of drama, video, and scientific insights to address the pressing issues surrounding young drivers and their passengers. By highlighting the barriers they face, ranging from peer pressure and inexperience to distractions, the session aims to create a comprehensive understanding of the risks associated with young driving.
